Sears was born on September 2, 1952 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma and has lived in Bartlesville his entire life. Representative Sears received his BA from Northeastern State University and a MA in counseling from Northeastern State University. He spent 32 years at Central Middle School, 24 of those in administration. Representative Sears and his wife, Jane have been married over 35 years and have two children, Ryan and Hollye.
